Wittenberg Church has always been instrumental in assisting individuals and organizations in the area when needs arise. The congregation plans and assists with outreach projects including: The American Red Cross Blood Drive (5 times a year), the collection of canned food for those in the community who find themselves in need of nourishment (3-5 times a year). Wittenberg also assists with lunch programs for individuals and families in the area. School supplies are collected during the summer months and donated to local schools for students in need. Wittenberg has also assisted with projects: at the Veteran's Hospital, Nazareth Children's home, a local animal shelter and the Rowan County Battered Women's Shelter. In addition, the church is constantly collecting items and funds to assist in natural disasters across the state of NC when the need arises. Members are encouraged to contact the Social Ministry Team when they know of a need where the church may be helpful.
An example of a recent outreach project, a Blessing Box, was installed in the church parking lot where non-perishable food is made available for the community at no cost.
